In reply to Rachel w. Thank you! How could I have forgotten that one!! :-) I was a little late joining Epsom and Leatherhead Multiples Club as the girls were quite a few months old, but I found it invaluable; we're still coming four years on!!

Thought of another one – look up your local twins club! Tamba has a list. Try and get along while you are pregnant if you can. It’s great to be around other parents who understand the challenges of twins. There will always be a helping hand and a friendly shoulder there.

In reply to Emma Parris. That's a brilliant tip Emma. We were so fortunate in not having to spend any time in SCBU, but even so, cooking hearty meals was pretty low down on the priority list! Even if it had been higher, it's finding the time to do it when you're juggling two newborns. x

In reply to Fran. Top tip from me, is prepare as much food and freeze it as possible. My two spent two weeks in scbu and came home with severe reflux. Lack of time and sleep, the last thing I wanted to do was cook!! I just grabbed what I could when I could, which wasn't a lot X

Great article Fran! The only thing I would add is to think about what help you might have when they are born. If there is not much, think about a post natal doula or mothers help. Or cleaners. Also get in place things like internet grocery shopping so you don’t have to hit the supermarket with two newborns! Although actually they are easier when sleeping at that age! X
